ARCH 131 – TECHNICAL DRAWING I FALL 2017-2018

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is an introduction to the basic drawing equipment, materials and techniques. It involves exercises to develop perception, communication, and visual concepts in architecture by using drawing media. It concentrates on specific themes, such as visualization of three dimensionality, drawing to scale, proficiency in drawing, manipulation of drafting techniques, and basic skills of graphic expressions.

This course is a prerequisite course for Arch 132 – Architectural Drawing. If you fail this course, you cannot take Arch 132- Architectural Drawing.

COURSE SCHEDULE:

This course is held on Tuesdays between 09:00 and 13:00 at Studio M4.

ATTENDANCE:

According to Çankaya University Regulation for Undergraduate Education, students have an obligation to attend to at least 80% of the courses.  Attendance will be taken in each hour of lecture and the late-comers will be considered absent for that class. Otherwise, it will not be possible for a student to enter the final and the grade will be NA at the end of the semester.

Students who fail to submit an assignment on time, without a valid medical report, will not be able to be graded for that assignment.

Students who fail to submit the Final Assignment will get an NA for the semester.

COURSE CONDUCT AND TEACHING POLICY:

This course will be conducted within a program in which theoretical lectures are supported by hands-on exercises.

STUDIO RULES & REGULATIONS

  • It is forbidden to use computer programs and all classworks and homeworks will be done by hand.
  • Submission time for classworks is the end of the class (13.00 pm), and for homeworks is the beginning of next class (09.00 pm). Late submissions will not be accepted and related homework or classwork will be evaluated as ‘0’.
  • Students are expected to come prepared to the class and have an obligation to bring proper equipment as given in the beginning of the semester.
