ARCH 131 – TECHNICAL DRAWING

SYLLABUS FOR FALL 2018-2019

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Arch 131 on specific themes, such as formal rules of abstraction, visualization of three dimensionalities, drawing to scale, proficiency in drawing, manipulation of drafting techniques, and basic skills of graphic expressions. The drawing equipment, materials and techniques are introduced to students via this course.

COURSE SCHEDULE:

This course is held on Tuesdays between 09:00 and 13:00 at Studio M3-Studio M4.

This course will be conducted within a program in which theoretical lectures are supported by hands-on exercises.

ATTENDANCE:

According to Çankaya University Regulation for Undergraduate Education, students have an obligation to attend to at least 80% of the courses.  Attendance will be taken in each hour of lecture and the late-comers will be considered absent for that class. Students have to be there in person and sign the attendance form. A student who is not there at the moment when the attendance is taken and does not sign the form in person cannot claim presence for that course hour. Otherwise, those who do not meet attendance requirement will not be possible to enter the final and the grade will be NA at the end of the semester.

Students who fail to submit the Final Assignment will get an NA for the semester.

 

STUDIO RULES & REGULATIONS

  • It is forbidden to use computer programs and all classworks and homeworks will be done by hand.
  • Submission time for classworks is the end of the class (13.00 pm), and for homeworks is the beginning of next class (09.00 pm). Late submissions will not be accepted and related homework or classwork will be evaluated as ‘0’.
  • Students are expected to come prepared to the class and have an obligation to bring proper equipment as given in the beginning of the semester.
  • Rules for attendance and medical reports are defined according to “Çankaya Üniversitesi Ön Lisans ve Lisans E─čitim ve Ö─čretim Yönetmeli─či”, Article 24. Students who fail to submit an assignment on time, without a valid medical report, will not be able to be graded for that assignment.
  • Students are expected to submit the required weekly drawings, models and all requirements in time, in full and according to Chamber of Architects drawing standards.
  • Students are required to attend the classes regularly, follow the requirements of the course and directions of your instructors.
